The Minority Mentoring
A digital Hub for BME mentoring and coaching in the UK
To Increase access to and quality of BME mentoring
Mentoring is for everyone and matches are made on desired outcome for the short term or long term. We believe that all BME youth should have access to quality BME mentors across all sectors.
As a young person, you may not always have the resource or specialist knowledge to tackle a particular challenge. That’s where we come in.
This program is designed to connect you with community volunteers (mentors) who offer support and encourage you to develop life skills, helping you become the person you want to be.
How does it work?
- You contact us and we will match you with an expert volunteer who will give you the support you are after.
- Support comes from individuals volunteering their time and expertise.
- Mentoring can be remote or face to face.
- The service is based on people from all backgrounds helping and supporting each other.
How much does it cost?
It’s free! Its free to use and all our mentors work with us on a voluntary basis. We are always fundraising to keep it going because we know how much of a difference it makes. You can always support us by donating if you like!
How long will it take?
Mentorship can be as flexible as you need it to be. It is designed with the mentee in mind. It could be anything from an hour-long call with a dedicated mentor or a 3,6 or 9-month pairing. The mentorship will last a maximum period of 1 year.
What happens at the end?
Once you have finished your pairing, we will send you a survey asking for your feedback. We also encourage you pay it forward by giving back to our community. We invite you to let us know any skills you have so that in the future we might match you with other young people in need of support.
